Early Signs And Symptoms Of Cancer

You can beat cancer with early detection and treatment.

To beat cancer at its early stage, a stage when it is highly curable, you should know and be aware of the early signs and symptoms of cancer.

There are many types of cancer, those sickness highlighted here are general signs of certain cancer that you should be aware off.

The following are some general and common cancer signs and symptoms,

Unexplained weight loss
Losing 10% of your body weight within the span of 3 to 6 months for no apparent reasons.

This happens most often with cancers of the pancreas, stomach, esophagus and lung.

Fever
Persistent fever is very common with cancer after it has spread from where it started, making it harder for your body to fight infection.

Fevers are associated with early sign of blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma.

Fatigue
Extreme tiredness even after you have had a good rest.

Fatigue is an important indicator of a growing cancer at its advanced stage.

It also indicates early symptoms for cancers such as leukemia, colon cancer and stomach cancer.

Pain
Most pain due to cancer is a symptom of cancer that has metastasized or spread from where it started.

Back pain can be a symptom for cancer of the colon and rectum.

Shoulder pain a symptom of lung cancer.

Pain in the form of headaches can be associated with brain tumors (malignant and benign).

Stomach pains can be signs of stomach cancer and pancreatic cancer.

Bladder and bowel changes
Look out for changes in your bladder and bowel habit.

Prolong constipation, diarrhea and blood in your stool are symptoms commonly associated with colon cancer but are also related to other types of cancer.

Pain when passing urine, traces of blood in your urine and changes in bladder function such as needing to pass urine more frequent than usual.

These are signs related to bladder or prostate cancer.

Nagging cough or hoarseness
Persistent coughing with blood or mucus can be symptom of lung cancer.

And hoarseness can be a sign of cancer of the voice box (larynx) or thyroid gland.

Other symptoms you should look out for,

• Appearance of none painful lumps, warts or moles
on your body.
• Indigestion and difficulty in swallowing food.
• Unexplained anemia.
