How to get that Perfect Shave

Every morning men go through the traditional of shaving. That perfect shaving is the ultimate goal; the skin on the face becomes smooth and neat.

Men do care about their skin just as much as women do. Modern men are paying more attention to their looks and appearances. "Wet shave" are the hottest trends in among men in the US and other part of the world.

Wet shave requires you to keep your face as wet as possible, this allows the blade of your shaver to floats over the surface of your skin instead of dragging your skin thus causing irritation, redness (razor burn) and shave bumps after shaving.

Use these following items for wet shaving;

- a gentle facial cleaner

- a good shaving brush

- quality shaving cream

- a good razor

- and a gentle non irritating aftershave lotion.

A good shaving brush releases and mixes the hot water with the shaving cream as you brush your face and neck. A good brush also exfoliates the dead skin and lifts the whiskers off your face. Genuine badger hair makes the best brush as the hair absorb hot water and it is the most comfortable on the face.

Quality shaving cream is next; most men prefer glycerin based creams. It deliver great skin protection making shaving a luxurious pleasure. Fabulously scented shaving creams can also make you look forward to shaving and not to mention you smell good to women around you.

Invest in high quality razor. Shaving connoisseurs normally use the classic double edge safety non disposable razor but disposable cartridges works well.

Basic steps to get you that perfect shave

1 - Men should shave after a hot shower – the steam opens pores, which causes the hair to stand, making it easier to shave.

2 - Wash your face with the gentle facial cleanser to clear away trapped dirt from your pores.

3 - Dip shaving brush into hot water, and then swirl the wet tips of the brush on to the surface of your shaving cream. Paint over your face and neck until you have a thick layer of rich lather covering the shaving area.

4 - Start shaving. Shave downward on your face and neck in the same direction that the hair grows. This will removed most of the hair without irritating your skin. For closer shave, wet your face and apply more shaving cream again. Shave lightly upward against the grain. This second shave against the grain will caused redness, razor burn and ingrown hairs so do this when necessary and with extremely extra light touch.

5 - Once finished, rinse your face with cold water to close the pores. Rinse your shaving brush and shake it. Leave it to dry.

6 - Gently pat your face with clean dry towel and finish up with a good aftershave lotion or moisturizer. Many men would splash alcohol based aftershave lotion on but the alcohol actually caused irritation, inflame the skin and hair follicle. You will experience burning and tingling sensation. Choose a gentle moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated instead.

7 – Finally, apply a broad spectrum sun block that offers both UVA and UVB protection.

You will begin to enjoy the tradition of shaving once you get used to these steps.
