Cannot Pass Motion?

Previously the medical profession and public lacks the understanding and do not know the extent of chronic constipation problem.

With the improvement in medical science and research leads to;

• Better appreciation of the conditions.

• Increased interest in the management of chronic constipation.

30 per cent of sufferers are male over the age of 40.

With increasing aging population, add to an increase burden to our socio-economic of healthcare.

The causes of constipation may vary, such as;

• Imbalance fibre intake

• Lack of exercise

• Stress

Chronic constipation may be a sign of colorectal cancer.

Most people who suffer from constipation but show no other symptoms, tend to live with the problem.

Some may also unaware that it could be due to a malfunction of the pelvic floor.

If you experienced difficulties with your bowel movement and after unsuccessful dietary modifications and medication show no improvement, your doctor may recommend biofeedback therapy.

This therapy comprises a series of breathing, abdominal and anal muscle contraction exercises may ease your chronic constipation.

Biofeedback therapy is a four outpatient sessions over a period of three month.

Each session lasts between one to two hours.

Therapies use visual and audio aids to guide you through the exercise where there is a series of coordinated movements.

Biofeedback therapy is a treatment usually employed after conventional methods of dietary modification and medications show no improvement.

The numbers of chronic constipation sufferers are expected to increase.
